Thanks to Steven Foster, I now have info on the next upcoming Sims expansion, which will be titled Makin' Magic. The expansion pack introduces magic to your Sims, which can help them, or possibly destroy them. You see, each spell can backfire, but it can also help your Sims in everyday things, such as food, romance, and jobs. One of the backfire's I have heard about is a Sims' head being turned unwantingly into a Donkey head, and another is a plague of toads.
Makin' Magic also introduces another town, called Magic Town. Here you can show off your Sims' mad makin' magic skills, competing against other Sims in magic competitions, and performing magic tricks where you can earn MagiCoins. With these MagiCoins, you can buy special ingrediants for spells found nowhere else (which can cure that severe case of Donkeyhead). Magic Town also features a haunted house ride and a fun house. Each of these themes have three rides, which you can also build yourself.
Remember that garden gnome in Livin' Large? Well with Makin' Magic, that gnome can come to life with the right spell. It also adds a Skeleton Maid, a Spellchecker (kind of like a magic cop-he goes around checking for people who abuse their spell-making privaledges), and a Flamingo Hostess. There are also new walls, floors, a wole new kitchen set, a bakers oven (where you can bake pies and bread), a gardener, and you can even have a Dragons Nest and have your very own pet Dragon! Now that's what I call awesome!
Sadly, Makin' Magic will be the grand finale to The Sims. But alas, The Sims 2 will hit the shelves by next year, and I think this expansion should keep us happy until it does.
