Now your Sims can have pets!

The pet store- where you choose your SimPets
simsdogs.jpg

Before Unleashed, the pet your Sims could have was a goldfish. Boring. But now, thanks to Unleashed, yuo can have pets galore! There are also 50 new jobs, and 5 new careers, including fashion and animal care. Another 125 new items will add some more fun to The Sims, including a pet bath, pet gym, and a vegetable garden, so you can grow your own food. They also have expanded the neighborhood- there are 40 new residential lots-that means you can create more Sims! You can even create your own pet store or fruit and vegetable store! Fun!

In order to purchase a pet, you must take a ride downtown with your family to the pet shop. There you can choose from many different kinds of pets- dogs, cats, birds, iguanas, and fish. If you choose a cat or a dog, you then have the chance to select its color (which determines which type it is- A beagle is brown with white spots, Golden Retriever is golden-duh). After you are done choosing you pet, you pay for it ($200-399), and then you must buy a food dish, maybe a pet bed, little doggie toys, etc. But you can buy all of your pet supplies at home too- in the Buy/Sell section.

You can perform many actions with your pets- praise, scold, be begged, play with, etc., but you also have to train them. Training begins as scolding them after they have had a little accident in the house. If you scold them enough, they will know to take their business outside. Training also can involve teaching your pet obediance and tricks for shows. If you win, you can get tropheys and money. And, if your animal wins many times and has babies, you can sell those cute little kittens or puppies for some mula. Brilliant.

Overall, The Sims Unleashed is good, with all of the basic needs for an expansion pack, but somehow I expected a little more from it for $20-30. But, nonetheless, your Sims being able to have pets makes it worth all of your money.

Pros: Your Sims can have pets, 50 new jobs, 5 new careers, 125+ new objects, you can build your own store

Cons: I expected a little more from it

Overall: A good expansion pack no owner of The Sims should be without
